Arsenal Beat Aston Villa to go Top of the BPL table

Olivier Giroud's 50th Barclays Premier League goal helped send Arsenal to the top of the table in a 2-0 victory over struggling Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The Frenchman's rich vein of form continued as he opened the scoring from the penalty spot against Remi Garde's side, whose winless run in the top flight now stands at 15 matches.
Giroud had netted his first Arsenal hat-trick, which also included a penalty, in Wednesday's 3-0 UEFA Champions League success at Olympiacos, and the striker now has five goals in his last three matches across all competitions.
Mesut Ozil laid on his 13th BPL assist this term to set up Aaron Ramsey for Arsenal's second shortly before half-time, and there was no looking back for Arsene Wenger's side.
Garde's team - unchanged from last week - did improve after the interval but they could not beat Petr Cech, who equalled David James' all-time BPL record with his 169th clean sheet.
Victory subsequently sends Arsenal into pole position, but Leicester City could overtake them if they beat champions Chelsea on Monday.
Wenger made one change to his side from the 3-1 win over Sunderland last weekend, replacing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Theo Walcott.
The former Southampton man had a rapid impact, his pace causing problems for Alan Hutton who pulled him back inside the box to concede a penalty.
Giroud confidently stepped up and calmly slotted the spot-kick into the bottom-right corner with just eight minutes played.
Villa saw plenty of the ball but struggled to create anything, and in the 20th minute Rudy Gestede had to hook Giroud's header off the line when Brad Guzan failed to collect Ozil's free-kick.
Cech's failure to hold a Carlos Sanchez cross shortly afterwards afforded Leandro Bacuna a chance to restore parity, but the left-back could not keep his effort down.
Arsenal began to assert themselves in possession, but escaped when Idrissa Gueye was unable to make the most of a cheap giveaway as his 25-yard strike swerved wide.
Wenger's team added a second in the 38th minute when Ramsey dispossessed Gueye 25 yards from his goal, initiating a counter-attack which resulted in him sweeping home from Ozil's unselfish square pass.
Villa were positive after the restart, with Jordan Veretout and Gestede missing the target before Sanchez warmed Cech's gloves with a curled shot in the 50th minute.
Scott Sinclair was unable to work Cech with a free header shortly afterwards, while Bacuna's impressive 20-yard strike grazed the roof of the net with 62 minutes on the clock.
Jack Grealish, recalled to the first team for the first time since the 4-0 defeat to Everton in November, was introduced in the 78th minute, but it was too late for bottom club Villa, whose ninth league home match without a victory is a club record Garde would not have wanted.
Aston Villa manager Remi Garde: "The best team has won today. I have regrets that we conceded an early goal today. When you are behind Arsenal you have to run behind the score. Against such a team it is very difficult. We didn't want that. Then after the first goal everything was very difficult."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: “I believe that our approach was right – first half we were completely in control. I was a bit anxious about the second half, because we gave a lot on Wednesday night, and it was a bit difficult at times.
"But it has been a very good week. The second goal showed the way we want to play football, and when that comes off it is good. Manchester City next week is a big game.”

Baking without an Oven

I learnt everything about Baking without an oven from the only school that counts – "The school of Hard Knocks". Thanks to the epileptic power supply and also being a typical Nigerian, learning to be innovative with ideas wasn't a difficult task.

Now this method of baking without an oven is a method I've used over a gazillion times especially in the village where electricity and gas are scarce. The good thing about this method is, you wouldn't have to be bothered about power failure or having to open the electric oven door while the baking is going on in event of Nepa/Phcn magic as it could spell doom for the cake. Plus, it's a very good way to save gas ;). The difference between this new pot baking method and the conventional Pot baking method with sand is there is no sand involved. I don't know if it's just me but sand makes whatever is being baked have a funny dusty taste.

•1 aluminum pot (An old one preferably)

•1 Flat aluminum plate or Baking pan

• Queen cake cups

• A Stove / Gas / Electric cooker

Step 1: Place the pot on the burner ( Stove, Gas or electric cooker) and reduce to medium heat

Step 2: Turn the aluminum plate upside down and place in the pot if you are making large "whole" cakes. If you want to make cupcakes like in the pictures, you would have to substitute the Aluminum plate for a clean baking pan to get a larger surface area.

Step 3: Line your Queen cup cake pans with Baking Sheets. If you don't have baking sheets, you can simply grease the cup cake pans with little margarine and dust with flour. This would make the cakes come out easily once done. Scoop your batter into the cupcake pans.

Step 4: Place the cupcakes on top of the overturned baking pan and cover the pot.

Step 5: While baking, DON'T open the pot as this would make the cakes collapse. Only open when the baking time elapses (One sure way to know if the cake is ready is when the aroma starts filtering out).

Nigeria Kids Deserve to Live: Be a Part of the Initiative!

Nigerian Kids deserve to live. They are not politicians and should not be used as pawns. 20 female students were adopted by Boko Haram, and we know they will be used as sex slaves. Now over 45 students were slaughtered like rams and their hostel burnt down. Its business as usual. NO! We must do our little part to put an end to this, lets make March 3rd The Nigerian Child Right to Live day. All dp,and status update should reflect this. It is time we speak with one voice. Any of those kids could be ours. Our government must learn to value life. Share if you believe the future of Nigeria is in our children, and they deserve to live. This might just be the spark that will ignite change for our future. Kindly use picture as Display Picture,Profile Picture etc

Why you have to finish payment before the wedding 'Balance Palava'

It's been a while, yeah I have been very busy working as you all know it's yuletide and this period I guess so many people want to get married and off with being single. Ok let me tell you what I've been doing, I have been doing my jobs of decorating event venues, I have done my own jobs and at the same time working for others and getting paid.

What I'll be talking about here today is so much but I have to make it short. Dear Clients, the reasons why we ask you to finish payment before the wedding proper is so much, you see, Decorators are humans like you and there are deadlines where we get the stuff we use for you, I mean rentage, I am not the only decorator in my area not to start talking about Lagos so how will they reserve a chilvary chair for me without paying just because you want to use it, the reality is, the moment someone who is ready to pay comes around, the chair is given out immediately. Whose fault? You put the blame on the decorator when you pay at the 11th hour when it is not possible to get other options, when you pay on time, if there is any hitch, alternatives would have been provided before the event day.

Blames are traded when a job is done badly, but I don't think the Couples get any because they are not seen any longer. The Decorator or other wedding Vendors get the blames because they are the ones people see and nobody wants to know if you paid late or not.

Decorator please on no occasion should you use 'Oju anu (Pity)' to collect jobs that will not pay you. You will blame yourself if you do. Collect the money that will execute the job then you can dash them your workmanship if you like, that is the only place you can reduce if you want to reduce price for a client.

You see the picture above? That is the many faces of Vendors waiting to get their own share whatsoever, most of the time it is 'Balance Palava'. Most times these vendors have not finished paying up at places where they got what they are using at your wedding and we don't want you to disappear after the wedding, many faces are squeezed, others are happy, others are just pretence because they also want their money but they do not want to embarrass you. This is why you don't know where the queue comes from immediately after your closing prayer and dance. If you pay fully before your day, you save yourself the stress and many other embarrassment because you'll not like to be embarrassed,in fact your mind is no longer at the venue but at your destination where all have to be finalised *winks.

Fairy Light Canopy

A stunning centrepiece to any ceiling is our fairy light canopy with its long stretches of warm white fairy lights which create a magical feel. We can either run the lights from a central point out to the walls or we can run them in parallel to create a wave effect in the ceiling. The reinforced strands mean that the spans of lights can stretch up to 20 meters without risk of snapping.

LED Battens Lighting

LED battens create a richly saturated coloured light and are often used to create glowing mood lighting around the room. The colour can be set or it can continually chage according to your needs. Alternating LED battens and uplighters throughout the room is a versatile and dynamic way of creating mood lighting. This can be done by fading one or both at different points throughout the evening
